Getting here

By Car

Please find our recommended directions here, if you put our post code into a SATNAV it will bring you over the steepest passes in England, a beautiful scenic route but quite challenging and not for the faint hearted!

Parking is free, we have 2 Electric Car chargers on site – one at each end of the building.

By Train

You need the Ravenglass (for Eskdale) station, from here you can get the “laal Ratty” minature steam train to Dalegarth it is then a 20 minute walk to the Inn. Or Taxis are available from Sims Travel

Check in

Check in time is between 4pm and 7pm, however the Inn is open all day and if your room is ready earlier we are quite happy to check you in sooner, if you are going to arrive after 7pm please let us know.

Wi-fi

We know how important it is to stay in touch so our WI-FI is FREE, no password is required, just search “Woolpack Inn Guest” click to join the network, accept terms and conditions and you’re ready to go!

Dining with us

Our full Breakfast Buffet is served from 8am until 10.30am, but don’t worry if you need a lie in as we have a Breakfast Menu that is served in the Bar until 12pm!

We serve Lunch and Evening Meals too, we recommend reserving a table during busy periods. We are well known for our authentic hand made pizzas cooked in a traditional wood burning oven and also do a Gluten Free Pizza Base. We try to cater for all dietary and allergy requirements, however, if you would like to inform us prior to your stay we can make sure there is enough choice for you. Our Lunch & Evening Meal Menu can change daily, here is a sample menu.

Pack Lunches are available to order for your day on the fells, and if you would like to bring a flask with you we are happy to fill with Tea or Coffee.

Dogs are not allowed in the Breakfast Room, however, if you would like your dog at breakfast with you please let us know, we can set a table up for you in the room adjacent to the Breakfast room.

We no longer automatically service rooms during stays, however, if you would like us to service anything or top up anything we are happy to do so, please let us know.
